Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021

It's Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021 from 1st-5th March; a time to share the value apprenticeships can bring to individuals, employers and the economy.

This year's theme is Business Backing Talent, to showcase the great things that happen when employers back talent through apprenticeships.

shmuTRAIN now recruiting for employability courses

shmuTRAIN are now recruiting for Employability Fund courses which start in February 2021. Unlike the accompanying photo (which was taken pre-COVID-19), we can't have groups in our building due to restrictions, so we'll be delivering courses online. 

Our courses are for young people aged 16-25 living in Aberdeen City or Shire and will support you to get prepared and skilled-up ready for any employment, training or education opportunities that come your way.

Positive Transitions employability courses return

shmuTRAIN are back and we're now recruiting for our next Positive Transitions Employability course, which starts in August!

Due to current restrictions, we can't yet have groups in our building, so we'll be delivering the course online.

Police Scotland and shmuTRAIN create crime prevention Film

Police in the North East have teamed up with SHMU to promote crime reduction messages online.

A series of videos, produced by young people involved in an employability group at Station House Media Unit (SHMU) in Aberdeen, ar now available online to help promote some key crime reduction messages.

Positive Transitions Graduation

On Monday 27th November 2017 we gathered together trainees from our recent Positive Transitions courses 29, 30, 31 and 32 to celebrate and share in their successes. Such a grand occasion deserves a grand venue and we were lucky enough to be allowed use of the Town House which looked all the more impressive decked out in its festive decorations.
